Ree experimented with the form of her Celastic ‘word works’ using the motif of text ribbons. She also made works in which words made from Celastic are attached to a wooden board, such as her work This is a now I know what to do next day. The words which comprise the artwork are attached to the board with visible eyelets and nails. Another example of this technique is her work The Plant That Heals May Also Poison, which was originally shown on top of a decorative children's wallpaper.
